Hello, it has been a few years since I had a narrow piece of alloderm placed on the bridge of my nose but it looks very unnatural & unattractive sort of like a silicone implant. I know it is not ideal to remove as my tissues have integrated into the graft but I'm not asking if its ideal, I'm looking for a surgeon who is skilled with this type of removal surgery & who is able to safely remove the alloderm.
Answer: Alloderm graft removal? Thanks Nice285788 for your question! It's understandable that you're concerned about the appearance of your Alloderm graft. While it's true that removing an integrated graft can be challenging, it's not impossible. However, a number of variables, such as the degree of integration, the particular technique employed during the first treatment, and your unique anatomy, affect the viability and possible results. A qualified plastic surgeon can evaluate your case and go over possible solutions, such as revision rhinoplasty. Redraping, which entails adjusting the surrounding tissues to reduce the graft's visibility, or removing a section of the graft without seriously impairing the structural integrity of your nose are two options that may be available in some situations. In certain situations, adding additional grafts or fillers can help to refine the overall shape and contour of your nose. Sometimes it’s better to use filler to make the surface more symetric and smooth. Scarring is a concern associated with every surgical surgery, including graft removal, so you should think about it. Furthermore, the removal of the graft may result in consequences including infection, hemorrhage, or harm to the tissues underneath. Sometimes removal can cause scarring and damage to skin. Every operation will have different results for different people. Discussing possible risks and advantages with your surgeon is crucial, as is having reasonable expectations. It is essential to speak with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty in order to receive the most precise and tailored guidance. They are able to assess your particular circumstance, talk about your worries, and suggest the best course of action. As a triple Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and experienced rhinoplasty surgeon, I specialize in revision rhinoplasty. This complex procedure requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of facial and nasal anatomy. I am committed to correcting imperfections and restoring both the form and function of the nose. My philospphy is to listen carefully to the goals and desirers of my patients with a focus on patient satisfaction, I utilize advanced techniques to achieve natural-looking and long-lasting results. Hope this was helpful! Best wishes, Dr Ali Sajjadian

Answer: Removing Alloderm... Alloderm is not permanent and dissolves over time. If you have irregularities, then it is with the actual tissues of your nose and you probably need revision surgery. Be sure to see a rhinoplasty surgeon for consulatation.

Answer: You are correct that removal of Alloderm is an unusual request. But also correct that a cellular dermis does lead to tissue in growth and could be difficult to remove, in that regard. Without photographs, it is difficult to completely address your concerns, so it may be best to visit a reputable rhinoplasty specialist for an examination and guidance. Wishing you well moving forward. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

A full set of facial photographs from all angles that are in focus are required even look at your nose to make a determination about a revision surgery.
