In the past 8 years I have put on 50lbs. I am currently 5’8, 195lbs with 69lb being fat (35.4%). I like my shape and my goal is to get down to 150lb. I know during weight loss fat cells shrink and are not lost. My question is once I get down to my goal or close to it, can I have fat cells removed to help prevent expansion in the future? I would of course continue with dieting and exercise but not to the extent of the methods used to get down from 195 to 150.

Answer: Liposuction Hi, thank you for sharing your question. You are a good candidate for 360 Liposuction. This will permanently remove fat but is not meant as a weight loss method and it won’t prevent weight gain if you have a poor diet in the future.

Answer: Liposuction Dear MissOrginal, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a surgery, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
