I’m very self-conscious about my profile. Do I need a chin implant and liposuction? (Photo)

Question

Hi. It seems that my lower lip sticks out more than other parts of my profile. Would it be beneficial for me to get a chin implant? I also have an over jet with my top teeth, would that sucks that issue? I even started to notice that I am getting lines and wrinkles around my lips and I have Severe baggage under my eyes. What would you suggest that would make the most improvement? ’m turning 40 soon and I’m still single and I want to change that, and I think my appearance is holding me back.

Chin augmentation is a good, straightforward option for an improved profile. An implant in combination with submental liposuction would help to balance your facial proportions while also helping to sharpen your neckline. If surgery is not an option for you, you may consider having a dermal filler such as Restylane or Juvaderm. It appears in the photo that your chin is recessive. Either a chin implant or genioplasty would improve the balance of your lower face. Both procedures have their pros and cons so go on a few consultations.

The best way to evaluate whether chin augmentation is for you is computer imaging. Have some chin augmentation imaging done so you can evaluate where chin augmentation in general looks better to you as well as how much chin augmentation looks best. (the flavor of change)

From the one very limited photograph, there does appear to be a recessive chain but not enough fat for liposuction. Consider placement of a chin implant to augment your chin forward for better facial balance and proportions from the side profile. A trans conjunctival lower blepharoplasty procedure can accomplish removal of the fat bags creating the puffy look in the lower lids. Both procedures can be performed together under a brief general anesthesia as an outpatient surgical procedure

When that’s the case patients often show a premature double chin, loss of jawline definition and premature jowls.

At chin implant or sliding genioplasty it’s probably the most appropriate procedure. Appropriate Liposuction can be done at the same time.

I suggest consulting with local board-certified plastic surgeons or oral surgeons.

You may get different opinions from different providers. The skeletal imbalance typically goes hand-in-hand with having a dental overbite occlusion.  The primary problem is usually based on bone structure and treating the primary problem usually gives the best results.
