I'm 5'6, 145. In the past 2 years, since I had a child, my neck skin has started to sag and I have a turkey's neck/double chin when Im looking down or am laying back. We are trying to figure out why this is happening so quickly, as my chin/neck have always been "normal", with no hereditary indication that this would happen to me. I'm 36.

Answer: Chin sagging with a turkey neck The photograph is rather limited, but it does appear that you have a recessive chin and fat deposits in the neck located both above and below the platysma muscle. A neck lift procedure can accomplish removal of that fat above and below the platysma muscle in addition to the platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline profile

Answer: Making an assessment The curse of aging can be relentless. People who have a small mandible compared to their maxilla typically are prone to develop premature Jowls and a double chin. We typically make assessments based on standard pictures and exaggerating your concern does not help us make an assessment. Look at how plastic surgeons take before and after facial pictures. Profile and pictures are more important than frontal. Treatment options could include Liposuction, and chin implant, and neck lift or a combination. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
