Thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible to do a breast lift in most patients to improve the shape of the breasts. The types of scars will depend on how low the nipple is and how much excess skin is present. An implant can also be used to add more volume. Best advice is to seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who can go over your options.
Thank you for your question. You have many options that can be discussed with you by a board certified plastic surgeon. If you are looking to maintain your current breast size, a lift may be all you need to reposition your breast tissue and nipple into a more youthful position. The type of lift that would work best for you would require an in-person consultation and exam to assess your skin excess. If you are looking to lift your breast tissue, while adding to your overall size, then placement of implants and a lift would work well.
Thank you for your question. Without an in person exam or photos it is difficult to say if a breast lift procedure is the right procedure to help you achieve your overall desired look. You may be a good candidate for breast lift based upon your description.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA
A breast lift is a procedure that removes excess skin of the breast and moves the nipple areolar complex (NAC) upward to a new position on the chest wall. It does not remove the NAC, so theoretically all feeling, sensation, blood supply and the ability to breast feed is maintained. The operation will make the breast more "perky", reduce the size of the areola (the color around the nipple) if needed, and make the breasts more symmetrical in size and shape. All women's breasts are shaped differently, therefore there are many different types of breast lift procedures available to choose from:Concentric or donut mastopexy (incision only around the NAC)Vertical incision, balloon or lollipop mastopexy (incision around the NAC and and a vertical incision running straight down from the 6:00 position of the areola)Anchor incision mastopexy (incision around the NAC, vertical incision and a horizontal incision all the way under the breast in the crease)Any of the above incision choices combined with a breast implant (saline or silicone, above or below the muscle)Breast implant alone, above the muscle, preferably silicone, used to fill up loose skin only, no skin is removedThe choice will depend on the consultation performed with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and the wishes and desires of the patient. Some people are more tolerant of scars than others. Some patients are looking for volume only and some are looking for shape only. Detailed measurements need to be made, photographs taken and evaluation of hundreds of before and after pictures of other women who have had similar type procedures and who's body build is similar.A breast lift procedure can be performed as an outpatient under a general or sedation type anesthetic. The blood loss is minimal and the recovery time is about one week. It is not a particularly painful procedure, however, when and implant is added, the recovery and post operative pain is more substantial. The price will vary from city to city and which type of lift, but typical prices will range between $4,900 and $10,000 american dollars.A final decision should be based on the feedback from your in person consultation.Good Luck!
If you are happy with the size of your breasts and you just want to correct the sag, then a mastopexy (aka breast lift) should be sufficient. On the other hand, if you would like an increase in your breast cup size, you may need a breast implant and a lift at the same time. Are you currently breastfeeding? If so, you may have to wait until after you stop producing milk before you proceed with surgery.i suggest you make an appointment to see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area so that you can be properly evaluated. Good luck.
Thanks for question. It sounds like you like your size/volume but would like a more perky appearance to your breasts. Based on that desire, it sounds like you would benefit from a mastopexy or breast lift. This procedure lifts your breasts and keeps your current volume. Get evaluated in person to see if this fits your desires. Good luck.
Hi and thanks for your question. Like the other surgeons have said there isn't much we can tell you about your specific case with seeing photos. You will get better information during a live consultation. In general there are three main options: implants only, implants and a lift, or lift only. The right answer depends on what your breasts look like and what your goals are. Schedule a few consultations with board certified plastic surgeons who have busy breast practices. That's the best way to figure out the right plan for you. Good luck.Dr J
Without photos it is not really possible to offer any specific advice. A breast lift is appropriate treatment for sagging breasts. An in person consultation with a plastic surgeon will be the way to get your questions answered. Thanks, all the best.
Hopefully you understand no one on this site is going to be able to give you any information on your appearance without knowing what your appearance is. Sounds like you should go and get a consultation for a breast lift.
One of the biggest problems with all types of breast lifts is that none of them consistently result in sustained upper pole fullness (so called auto augmentation), which is why the addition of an implant (at the same time or in a second stage) is often recommended as well. Your photo...
Only a personal consultation will determine what will allow a surgeon to assist you with fulfilling your goals. You appear to have a significant amount of breast tissue and there is no way to tell by photos how large your implants are. Depending upon your desired size and the current...
I would recommend either applying what is known as telfa. Telfa is a non stick gauze that can be found at any medical supplies store. The gauze has a non stick layer that prevents it from adhering. If the area opens I would recommend starting to apply a wet to dry dressing to the area. The...
