Why are my boobs saggy?

It is difficult to know why your breasts sag. Sometimes it is due to genetics or weight loss in a younger person.  However when a person is older, it may be due to pregnancy, nursing and ongoing weight fluctuations.  In my practice, some patients may consider a mastopexy or breast augmentation with mastopexy for correction.  But I do tell my patients that if certain types of mastopexies are performed then it may decrease their ability to nurse.  This is particularly important to consider in a younger woman.

Thank you for your question.  There are many reasons that breasts sag: the pull of gravity, especially with large, heavy breasts; poor skin elasticity and tone, contributing to droop; significant weight fluctuations; pregnancy; hormonal changes; etc.   I am sorry that the are uncomfortable, but you are in a period of your life of dramatic changes.  Though elective surgery to help lift and/or reduce your breasts is not currently appropriate, once you are fully developed, see a board certified plastic surgeon about your surgical options.
