While it is theoretically possible to perform forehead reduction or hairline lowering surgery under purely local anesthesia, this is not something that I recommend or offer in my practice. I perform all of my forehead reduction surgeries under IV sedation administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist. I find that this is the safest technique that offers optimal comfort for the patient and a quick procedure for the surgeon with the best conditions to achieve excellent results. All the best,
Yes local anesthesia can be injected to block the nerves and you shouldn't feel any pain after that. If you have an IV in and don't feel like you can handle just having local anesthesia, you can be given IV sedation immediately. With that said, I use IV sedation for all patients and don't feel that this procedure should be done under straight local. For reference, I have performed 1000's of other hair and facial surgeries under local anesthesia. I feel its safer under sedation.
If you are considering cosmetic surgery, it is best to see a doctor in person for an examination so you can better understand the procedure and realistic outcomes after your doctor has a chance to listen to your exact goals.
Hairline Lowering under local anesthesia. Since inventing the Irregular Trichophytic Forehead Incision and Reduction I have done this under local anesthesia with and without sedation depending on how the Patient feels about this. The list important thing when having this done is the final result. No scar is seen and no need for transplants.
It can be done but there is a certain comfort level you have to have. For this it is generally recommended that you have light IV sedation. Overall the main issues involved are discomfort with the injections to numb you and making sure you are still. In the end you have to make sure your surgeon is comfortable with this and that you understand what you are getting into: you can still see, hear and SMELL what is happening! Hope that helps!
It's possible to do this surgery under local but I think it's very hard to tolerate and I don't recommend it. I do this procedure every week and A little sedation is needed, it doesn't have to be general anesthesia. Consult a forehead reduction expert to get more details. best wishes
I have done forehead reduction surgery under local anesthesia but I encourage patients to have this surgery with my MD anesthesiologist so they are more comfortable. This is possible when carefully placed limited incisions are used.
Yes, a hairline reduction surgery can be done under mild sedation and local anesthesia providing the patient agrees to this approach and the doctor is willing to do this.
You do have some extra volume to your bone but it is unlikely to be anything that would be worth fixing. The best methodology would be to do a forehead reduction where some skin is removed from in front of your anterior hairline then the hairline is pulled lower. There will be a scar that fades...
Thank you for your question of photo! You are very early in your recovery I would give it up until 6 weeks post op to see where you are with those marks. Best of luck!Dhaval Patel Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Chicago Hoffman Estates Oakbrook Orland Park
Your protruding forehead appearance can be corrected by lowering your hairline and reduction of the brow bone. This is done using the Irregular Trichophytic Forehead Incision with or without a Forehead Lift. This will feminize your face. Hair grows thru the scar so the scar is not seen. Your ...
