I am wondering about hairline reduction surgery for smaller forehead
Answer: Hairline reduction under local While it is theoretically possible to perform forehead reduction or hairline lowering surgery under purely local anesthesia, this is not something that I recommend or offer in my practice. I perform all of my forehead reduction surgeries under IV sedation administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist. I find that this is the safest technique that offers optimal comfort for the patient and a quick procedure for the surgeon with the best conditions to achieve excellent results. All the best,

Answer: Hairline Lowering under local anesthesia Yes local anesthesia can be injected to block the nerves and you shouldn't feel any pain after that. If you have an IV in and don't feel like you can handle just having local anesthesia, you can be given IV sedation immediately. With that said, I use IV sedation for all patients and don't feel that this procedure should be done under straight local. For reference, I have performed 1000's of other hair and facial surgeries under local anesthesia. I feel its safer under sedation.

Since inventing the Irregular Trichophytic Forehead Incision and Reduction I have done this under local anesthesia with and without sedation depending on how the Patient feels about this. The list important thing when having this done is the final result. No scar is seen and no need for transplants.

Answer: Yes It can be done but there is a certain comfort level you have to have. For this it is generally recommended that you have light IV sedation. Overall the main issues involved are discomfort with the injections to numb you and making sure you are still. In the end you have to make sure your surgeon is comfortable with this and that you understand what you are getting into: you can still see, hear and SMELL what is happening! Hope that helps!
