Answer: Fat vs Gynecomastia Being able to decipher whether there is gynecomastia or hard glandular tissue beneath the small amount of fat you have on your chest would require an in-person exam. If you feel hard tissue when you pinch deep into the breast tissue might be a clue too. I would recommend continuing to work towards your goal weight and seeing what's left when you are at goal. If the fullness you see is still displeasing to you, seek the opinion of a board-certified plastic surgeon. I use a combination of excision and Vaser liposuction in the whole chest. The Vaser machine melts that fat first and helps delineate the glandular tissue from the fat so it can be removed appropriately. The Vaser liposuction is great for the extra fat even if you don't need glandular tissue removed.
