Hi there, Since high school, I've always had an issue where my nipples would be poking through every shirt I wear. The surgeon evaluated me today at the consult and said I was a very minor case, with about 5-10g worth of tissue on each side. Would this surgery help flatten my nipples? Or would this procedure be risky and cause more puffiness than what I currently have due to scar tissue buildup?

Thank-you for your question. The nipples and the tissues can take up to one year to completely settle down. I would recommend vigorous massages at this time. If the problem does not resolve at the end of one year, you may consider some fat or filler injections. All the best!
I prefer anesthesia when doing gynecomastia surgery . This will make you more comfortable and decrease bleeding risks.
But every surgeon is different. Best to see a board certified plastic surgeon.
Good luck.
