Would gynecomastia surgery help flatten my nipples or am I risking more puffiness due to scar tissue?

Thank you for submitting your questions. Gynecomastia reduction surgery can reduce how much your nipples protrude. The tissue underneath is removed and contour of the chest is improved with liposuction. It is even possible to have nipples reduced as well if needed. 5-10 grams of tissue may not sound like a lot, but it can make a big difference in the appearance of the chest, as well as improving your self confidence. Thank-you for your question. Puffy nipples without significant Gynecomastia, can be corrected by the procedure suggested by your Plastic Surgeon. It has to be done carefully so as not to over or under respect the small amount of tissues. All the best!

Thank you for your question. Without seeing pictures it is hard to determine, but I would think it would help reduce it and make it look better. With gynecomastia there is also a fat component so the Surgeon will typically liposuction the area as well to help flatten it. Best of luck to you.

In my opinion gynecomastia surgery would be beneficial in your case. If your case is truly minor then I would assume your surgeon would be planning on performing liposuction plus a direct excision under the areolas and nipples. The direct excision plus the liposuction should help to flatten out your nipples significantly and I do not think you need to worry about scar tissue making your nipples more prominent

your problem is NOT classic gynecomastia. you will not benefit from having tissue removed from your chest. you will need either a nipple reduction or reducing the tissue directly under the nipple-areolar complex. i do a lot of the latter surgeries and this can be performed in my office with local anesthetic and oral sedation (as opposed to general anesthesia in the main OR)
You will need the correct surgery to get the results you want.
