Can I have a colon hydrotherapy 3 days before abdominoplasty surgery?

I would strongly advise against having colon hydrotherapy prior to surgery.Any GI procedure introduces a significant bacteria load into the blood stream and can increase your risk of infection post surgery.Colon Hydrotherapy is associated with alterations of your electrolytes-the chemicals that power our cells and our bodies.  This can dramatically increase your risk of complications during and after surgery.Colon Hydrotherapy can cause dehydration, again increasing your risks for complications.The best recommendation is to let your body return to its normal baseline prior to any surgery, let alone an elective surgery.Please speak to your plastic surgery ASAP before having your hydrotherapy performed.

Please contact your plastic surgeon directly to ask this question. While many of us would be comfortable with this a week before surgery, only your plastic surgeon will be able to decide if they are comfortable with it only 3 days before surgery.
