Colon hydrotherapy 3 days for adominalplastic surgery and breastlift. I am having a super extended tummy tuck and breastlift. Can I have a Colon hydrotherapy 3days before

Any procedure that involves that GI system should be postponed at least 2-4 weeks prior to any elective surgery.You would be risking infection, electrolyte imbalance which can cause arrhythmias, dehydration, etc.

Thank you for your question.  I would recommend doing the colon hydrotherapy with a bit more lead time going in to your surgery.  These types of treatment can cause dehydration and electrolyte imbalances that may cause an issue with anesthesia or surgery.  Talk to your surgeon about appropriate timing, but I would recommend at least 7 days.  Hope this helps.

I would strongly advise against having colon hydrotherapy prior to surgery.Any GI procedure introduces a significant bacteria load into the blood stream and can increase your risk of infection post surgery.Colon Hydrotherapy is associated with alterations of your electrolytes-the chemicals that power our cells and our bodies.  This can dramatically increase your risk of complications during and after surgery.Colon Hydrotherapy can cause dehydration, again increasing your risks for complications.The best recommendation is to let your body return to its normal baseline prior to any surgery, let alone an elective surgery.Please speak to your plastic surgery ASAP before having your hydrotherapy performed.

Please contact your plastic surgeon directly to ask this question. While many of us would be comfortable with this a week before surgery, only your plastic surgeon will be able to decide if they are comfortable with it only 3 days before surgery.

Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to preoperative and postoperative "instructions"; practices will vary significantly from one plastic surgeon to another.  In my practice, with the principle of avoiding "Murphy's Law", I would ask that you avoid undergoing any type of "colon therapy" days before extensive surgery.
