It is hard to tell if the internal issues that you are feeling are in fact a result of your plastic surgery. Hello good afternoon, it is normal to experience heart burn, or an upset stomach due to antibiotic and medication intake, your intestinal flora is affected while consuming your medication, take omeprazole on an empty stomach and of course your probiotics.

Congratulations on your surgery!  These symptoms are not uncommon after a tummy tuck.  They tend to settle down and go away as time passes.  You can take over the counter remedies to help with the discomfort.  Be aware too that narcotic pain medicine can also contribute to some constipation, which also can be treated with diet changes and over the counter medications.  You will get there- keep your chin up!

The nausea you are experiencing may be coming from your pain medication. Narcotics are usually the culprit. If you can wean yourself off these meds to Tylenol, you may feel better. Take an over the counter medication for your indigestion but if it does not resolve, consult your surgeon.

Yes this will pass. It is still early on your recovery. Part of the upset stomach can be from the anesthetic and the pain pills. The heart burn is not uncommon because during a tummy tuck the muscles are tightened and this pushes the abdominal contents( bowels and internal organs up against the diaphragm causing some acid reflux. Sometimes if the patient has some difficulty with bladder control this can be aggravated early on as well. Avoid acidic foods. Eat small amounts more often and use something like an antacid combined with pepcid (over the counter from a drug store)

This is very normal following a tummy tuck procedure to have increased nausea and heartburn.  Since the abdominal muscles are tightened it can put pressure on the abdomen which can push up on the stomach leading to heartburn.  Additionally the anesthetics used and pain medications that you are probably taking can cause nausea as well.  You are very early in the recovery process and just give it time and it should get better.  Often using an over the counter heartburn remedy such as Tums has been shown to help the heartburn following this procedure.  If these remedies do not help, talk to your surgeon about prescribing you a medication for heartburn/ nausea.  Be sure to follow your spacific doctors recomendations.
