Hello, I am bothered by my heavy lower face. I had a consultation for chin liposuction but the surgeon informed me that I would not be a good candidate because I do not have much fat under my chin, which leads me to believe that the issue could be skin laxity. I also have chin filler and a recessed chin due to overbite. Thank you.

Answer: Lower Face Aesthetics Hello, hope you are well. Thank you for submitting your photos and questions! I think you should consider a chin implant and/or orthognathic surgery depending on the severity of your malocclusion (overbite). In either case, improving your chin projection will help balance the lower third of the face and reduce the appearance of soft tissue laxity. I would be very wary of undergoing a facelift at age 30 because the reality is that your skin elasticity is probably very good. Best,Dr. Tower

Answer: Facelift at 30? I am only basing this on the two pictures provided so please don’t consider this medical advice but a suggestion. You are correct that the main issue is your overbite. The chin/jaw being smaller has not given enough support to the lower face which makes you look older than you are. While a deep plain necklift and chin implant could help mask the problem I would first recommend seeing a jaw surgeon about a possible sagital split osteotomy to bring your jaw forward. This will help with current and future aging as well as open up your air way more and potentially prevent future sleep apea
