Hello, I am bothered by my heavy lower face. I had a consultation for chin liposuction but the surgeon informed me that I would not be a good candidate because I do not have much fat under my chin, which leads me to believe that the issue could be skin laxity. I also have chin filler and a recessed chin due to overbite. Thank you.

Answer: Facelift at 30? I am only basing this on the two pictures provided so please don’t consider this medical advice but a suggestion. You are correct that the main issue is your overbite. The chin/jaw being smaller has not given enough support to the lower face which makes you look older than you are. While a deep plain necklift and chin implant could help mask the problem I would first recommend seeing a jaw surgeon about a possible sagital split osteotomy to bring your jaw forward. This will help with current and future aging as well as open up your air way more and potentially prevent future sleep apea

Answer: Chin implant and liposuction of the neck I would not recommend a lower facelift. I would recommend a chin implant. This can be done intra-orally and will tighten the skin of the lower face. At the same time, you can undergo liposuction of the neck, particularly the midline, to make it look more attractive. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
