If you are having issues after surgery, especially with "redness" you should contact your doctor. If your doctor has examined you and told you it would be "fine", then it probably would be fine. Redness may persist for several weeks for certain patients.
Thanks for sharing your photos. Based on them your donor side looks good and the redness is common after hair transplantation. For some patients it can take longer and for some not. Important is to follow up and to keep your surgeon updated if there will be any change.
From the picture, I think you donor site looks very good. It can take several months for the redness to fade completely but it will. I personally had the procedure done at my own office, and it took about 3-4 months for the redness to resolve. Most of it was hemosiderin staining (blood tatoo) from repeated needle sticks. None the less, you are going to be just fine. Thanks for the question. Enjoy your FUE results, Dr. Giordano
The donor (and recipient) area can show inflammatory changes like redness or pigmentary changes for several months after a transplant. As the inflammation resolves and the areas heal completely, this color change generally resolves. Cutting the hair slightly longer can be helpful to disguise these colors changes as the area heals. Hair should continue to grow immediately in the donor area from the follicles that were left in place at the time of the FUE. Hair that is transplanted into the recipient site will often take at least 6 months to become noticeable, and at least 12 months to mature. As always, any specific post-procedure concerns should be discussed directly with your surgeon.Best,
It is not uncommon to have mild redness in the donor area for up to several months after FUE.Native hair that was clipped down for the procedure should already be growing back-at the rate of approximately-1/2 inch per month.
The redness looks mild in your case. As long as your surgeon says it's okay there's no reason to believe it isn't. If the redness doesn't start diminishing soon (or gets worse/painful/etc) that's when you should be concerned and talk to your surgeon again.
You did the right thing: check in with your surgeon. Your pics suggest that you are on track. Simply, some patients take longer than others to heal from hair transplantation. Keep up with his/her suggestions and be sure to keep your surgeon posted on any changes that you notice.
persistent redness happen in some patients, usually reflecting a fair skin color, a blonde, or redhead. This usually goes away so just be patient
Rogaindoes nothing to help grow the transplanted hair which will grow if you had a good surgeon and good team working on you
You should go back and see your doctor. By this time I would have expected more growth than you are showing now
It looks normal. The redness is acceptable and itching also and it will go away in between 2-4 weeks. But if you have any question marks so please consult with your surgeon for your case.
At 5 months after a hair transplant I often tell my patients to wait another 3 months as by the 8th months 80% of the growth should be evident.
An FUE is treated just like a regular hair transplant with regard to the recipient area, but the donor area has open wounds which require daily washing with soap and water. Within 3 days of surgery, you can resume full activities, heavy exercises if you wish. The recipient area requires daily...
Thanks for submitting your photos. Based on them your donor side looks eligible for a FUE hair transplantation and it seems that up to 4000 grafts can be taken out and your donor side will allow it. If it is needed is another question. Therefore you should consult with multiple surgeons...
