Hi doctors, I had a FUE hair transplant of 3250 exactly 2 weeks ago, the donor site is still pretty red and itches quite a bit. Is this normal and does it look normal? Should I be using moisturiser? Thanks
Answer: Redness and itching after FUE Redness and itching at the donor site after FUE is very common. Almost all patients will have some itching, some even have severe itching. Redness is a sign of inflammation (which is normal after any surgery or injury to the skin), and can sometimes take months to fade completely. As the inflammation resolves and healing progresses, the redness should also improve. As always, any post-procedure concerns should be discussed with the doctor who performed the procedure.Best,

Answer: Afte FUE hair transplant: What to expect At 2 weeks you should have less redness in the donor area. If larger punches were utilized, the redness would be more severe and longer lasting. If you are using a cream to which you are allergic, it could explain intense redness and itch. It is however normal for some itching to be experienced during the healing phase. You should begin by consulting your operating doctor for clarity as to what might be going on and then a management course.

Answer: Redness & Itching after Hair Transplantation It looks normal. The redness is acceptable and itching also and it will go away in between 2-4 weeks. But if you have any question marks so please consult with your surgeon for your case.

Answer: Post FUE 3250 Grafts As a physician who performs FUE transplants, and who has had it done personally I think this looks pretty normal. They may have taken a little too much at the top and bottom of the square as the hair regrowth looks a little sparse, but as your hair gets longer this shouldn't be noticeable. Hopefully, they paid attention to your hair density and spread out the donor sites evenly. You can use a moisturizer as it won't hurt anything, but I would keep it away from the top of the head where the new follicles have been placed. Best not to have any unnecessary chemicals irritating the new follicles. Itching is a sign of healing, and unfortunately is quite normal with this procedure. In the future, you may also experience the joy of some ingrown hairs, but it will pass. All in all. looks pretty normal in this pic you provided. Hang in there. It will be worth it. Regards, Dr. Giordano
