Ok i am not sure if what i am seeing is newly form stretch marks (red streaks) or marks from the compression garmet or a rash. I am 3 weeks post opo. I also know those were not pre-existing. I am feeling a lil on edge because i didn't go through this to end up with more stretch marks than i did prior to the tummy tuck.
Answer: Always happens... Previous stretch marks (even if barely noticeable) are the path of least resistance for excess fluid to go to, so they always look worse during the healing process. This is quite common and alarming to people who weren't told to expect it before surgery. It will go down as your body gets rid of the extra fluids. Just give it some time and wear your compression garments to help.-JGH

Answer: New stretch marks after tummy tuck? Hi, Redlady. It is highly unlikely that you got new stretch marks following tummy tuck. Most likely your pre-exisitng stretch marks may seem to be more prominent due to swelling. It should improve with time.Good luck with you recovery.
