Liposuction for my neck roll / neck fat - is it possible? (photos)

Thank you for your question. It is uncommon to request liposuction in the lower neck, but is within the realm of possibility. Great care must be taken in this area as it is near the thoracic inlet. Major blood vessels, the lungs, the esophagus, and trachea are nearby, so complete familiarity with the anatomy in the area is essential. You should seek consultation with an experienced surgeon who is completely comfortable with the special anatomy of the region.

That is not the typical place to liposuction, but some people have fat there, and it can be liposuctioned. The incision would be on the side of the neck to get there horizontally. I have done it a few times.

Thank you for your question. Based on the picture you appear to be good candidate for chin/jaw liposuction also you need buccal fat removal to make your face slimier. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.

Yes, you can have liposuction in most of that area. I would go to a board certified plastic surgeon who does lots of liposuction.

It is difficult to say without performing a thorough history and physical exam, but there are several possible ways to address fat under the neck, including surgical and non-surgical options. Coolsculpting and Kybella are non-surgical treatments that can be used to address fat in different parts of the body, including under the neck. The procedures can be performed with minimal downtime. It may also be possible to perform selective liposuction using fine cannulas and laser light to remove excess fat in the neck/under chin area. I perform this procedure through a small incision as an outpatient in our fully-accredited ambulatory surgery facility with IV sedation administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist.

We can definitely have liposuction of your neck. It is however really important to find someone who has sufficient skillet experience to get the job done right.
You can get the fullness out of your neck reduced but the skin line will still persist. For that consider injecting very conservative amounts of HA fillers right below the dermis.
To find the right provider patients might need to schedule multiple consultations.
Look for plastic surgeons in your community who show a significant number of chin and neck liposuction results on their website.
You can also try emailing different practices with pictures asking if they would consider doing the case then follow up with an in person consultation.During each in person consultation ask each provider to open up your portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous chin and neck liposuction results.
Having fullness in the lower part of the neck is not that uncommon. I provide her with sufficient experience will have done it before.

If backed up by an ethical operation that has overall good credentials and good reviews and that may be a way to find someone who has sufficient skill and experience.

Plastic surgeons on the other hand have lots of experience doing consultations from their perspective.
Patients need to take an active role during the consultation and realize that you were the one paying for the procedure and you have rights to see clear evidence of what the providers previous work looks like based on numerous before and after pictures.
If they can’t show you an impressive collection of before and after pictures then don’t go to that provider.
When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations.
Like I mentioned earlier there are in a sense to issues with your neck. One is the fullness which is all based on subcutaneous fat. The other is the skin liner or skin fold on your mid neck. That will probably not be improved with Liposuction but that skinfold should respond well to fillers if done by someone with sufficient skill and experience.
Depending on which issue bothers you must you have two treatment options.
To get the best result you’ll need both.
