Am I a good candidate for liposuction on the abdomen and flanks? If so, which type of lipo?

Thank you for your question.  Looking at the photos you have provided I do believe you are a great candidate for liposuction.  I tend to find that a lot of patients do very well with a laser assisted liposuction.  It helps with skin retraction . I think you are an ideal candidate for liposuction with or without skin tightening techniques (will be determined at the time of consultation and during the clinical exam) . At least from the photo it looks like you have good skin tone and minimum skin laxity.

From the photos alone, Liposuction with a skin tightening modality (Bodytite or Vaser) would help get you the best result depending on your ultimate goal. If you would want more definition of the abdomen then etching of the lines would be the way to go!

There are a lot of different types of liposuction; some can be better than others. But overall, the surgeon's experience, knowledge, and techniques are what is important. This type of question is best answered in an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Imporant variables include your medical history and a full physical exam in 3 dimensions with a 360 degree eval. From the photo you provided you have good skin quality and no overhanging skin which are 2 good qualifiers for lipo! You appear to be a good candidate for liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. Your skin tone appears good and you should have good results. There are a variety of liposuction techniques. The basic liposuction technique uses an infusion of solution and then aspiration of the fat. Other techniques are designed to attempt to contract the skin. This may or may not be effective.
