I'm looking into getting the brazilian butt lift surgery in December, I've been researching it for quiet some time, I came across a girls sister review who passed away 2 days after her brazilian butt lift. She needed a blood transfusion, then had several heart attacks then kidney failure.. My question is what happened that caused her to need a blood transfusion. Isn't the brazilian butt lift relatively safe? Yes, I know that there can b complications but nothing that can't b treated.
Answer: Complications from a BBL overseas. None of us can comment this particular case, but this unfortunate situation is not the only one. Do your research! To be quite frank, the safety standards and regulations overseas are nothing like we have here in the US. Many times the patients are not given adequate medical clearance, the doctors do way too many surgeries each day, and the aftercare is often not as good - combine this all with a language barrier and it is a recipe for disaster. I constantly see data about a high transfusion rate for BBLs performed in other countries. Blood transfusion after a BBL are very very very rare and almost never needed, but it seems that it is common overseas. Even though deaths overseas are rare, other complications are not - infections, fat loss, lipo irregularities, etc. When a complication happens a few weeks later, it is extremely difficult to find someone at home to take care of you, and if you do, it will be very expensive.

Answer: Brazilian butt lift complications Generally speaking a Brazilian butt lift is a very safe procedure. The complications are not volume related. The most common complications are swelling and bruising which resolve over the first month. Also, you can expect to lose 30 to 50% of the fat injected. If the fat is not correctly injected some of it can die and you may feel lumps, this is called fatty necrosis. Fluid collections or seromas can occur if there is too much undermining. These complications depend on the surgeon's technique and can be completely avoided. The most dreaded complication is a fat embolism which occurs in less than .1% of the cases. This convocation can be completely avoided by your surgeon by not injecting into the muscle layer and using a large blunt cannula. #StayBeautiful @RealDrWorldWide

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift Any surgery has its own risks and complications. It is very important to evaluate each patient risk factors prior to surgery. A complete clearance by the medical doctor and full blood work is needed, and those need to be normal. The surgeon need to be a board certified plastic surgeon(American Board of Plastic Surgery). The facility need to be accredited and anesthesia provider need to be preferably an MD anesthesiologist. Certain measures should be taken before, during and post operatively to try to decrease the chances of complications.

Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift The Brazilian Butt Lift involves liposuction of your own fat from various areas and injection of that fat into the buttocks. This is a very safe procedure. I can't even imagine what would cause someone to need a blood transfusion after this procedure. Be aware that there are many non plastic surgeons performing this procedure injecting silicone, fix a flat and other substances. Seek a plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who specializes in cosmetic plastic surgery, as evidenced by membership in The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Ask to see many pre and post op photos and speak with previous patients.
