Ive had rhinoplasty 4 years ago and I am still unhappy with the result. I don't have the funds for a revision right now however I have heard that cortisone/steroid shots can help. I have very thick skin and I'm sure that a lot of the "swelling" on my right side comes from scar tissue. However on the left side of my nose tip I have a very hard "ball" that really sticks out of my nose. Is this scar tissue too? Also can my asymmetrical nostrils be fixed with filler?

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from your photos filling is definitely not safe and is a non-permanent procedure, the safest and most accurate option for you will be the revision operation. It would be better face to face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you are a good candidate for a revision Rhinoplasty. At 4 years post-op, this is not due to swelling but rather due to asymmetries in the lower lateral cartilages. Your nostril asymmetry can also be improved with a revision. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
