Will my nose take more than one rhinoplasty?

I have always felt like I have the biggest (widest) nose in the world. When I was young I would hope the doctor would tell me I had a abnormal growth so I could get it done. Large noses run in my family but I by far have the biggest one. My 1st appointment is February 8th and I am getting nervous. I love my ethnic look but I just want a smaller nose!

Great question!  Hopefully not!  You are a very beautiful person despite not loving your nose.  You should not require more than one rhinoplasty.  But, I want you to keep in mind that your nose can only be made smaller based upon your anatomy.  There are limits to making noses smaller.  Many ethnic rhinoplasties can be enhanced by creating a better nasal dorsum, improving nasal tip projection and then making the nasal opening smaller.  Don't worry.  Interview your surgeon and get more than one opinion.  You will feel a lot better about your decision. Good luck.

You should only require one procedure.  This should refine your tip, narrow your alar base and narrow your bridge.  A lateral view is needed to see if any dorsal grafting is needed.

A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish narrowing the wide nose. An alar plasty is required to narrow wide nostrils. The bridge of the nose can also be built up to give added height which helps give the illusion of being more narrow. Osteotomies placed in the nasal bones are required to narrow the bridge line.
