How many units of Dysport are usually used for crows feet, brow lift, and eleven lines? I feel I’m being underdosed.

Dysport recommendations per area are typically 60 units for forehead lines, 60 units for 11 lines, and 30 units around each eye for crows feet. Dysport is typically constituted 3 to 1 compared to Botox and Xeomin.

Hi 4710.  The standard dose of Dysport for the 11 lines is between 50-60 units.  50 is the FDA approved amount, but we found that we needed to use 60 units to match the duration of 20 units of Botox in the same area, so we use 60 standard. For the crow's feet, we are typically between 48 - 72 units split between the two sides.  We are not clear as to what area is being injected for the "browlift", but at our practice this is typically included with the crow's feet area and it's called a "Lateral brow lift".  If you are talking about injections on the forehead itself (above the brows), we are usually between 15-30 units in this area.     

Yes, it sounds like the dose is not enough to get the results you want. I recommend following up with your injector. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results. Hope this helps.

The number of units should be tailored to the individual needs, but there are some general dosing guidelines. For the crow's feet 40 units per side is typical, brow lift is 5-10 units, and glabellar lines is 55. It does seem from your description you were underdosed, especially if you had full movement of the area two weeks after treatment. Note that the number of Dysport units needed is different from Botox units.

The administration of botox/dysport is a highly technical procedure. There are so many factors to consider to determine if you are a good candidate for it, best neurotoxin to use, the right amount, injection technique, etc. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.

Typically for crows feet, 11s and brows, 70 units should suffice. However - its important to remember the dose is determined by the doctor during consultation according to muscle activity. Perhaps the dose is correct but your body isn't responding to the product. Maybe try Botox or Xeomin. Always see a board certified plastic surgeon for best results.

Whenever
you have questions about your injections, it is best to go back to the injector
who did it so they have a chance to address your concerns.  You should be
able to see final results from your injections at 2 weeks, if you are still
having movement at this time you likely need more injected at that time as you
were underdosed.  If at 2 weeks you have a good result but then a month or
so later it seems to have worn off, you likely are metabolizing the product
quicker than a normal patient and may benefit from trying a different
neuromodulator like Botox.  On average, a patient should have results for
3 months before having to come back in but some patients do have to come in
more or less frequently.

The glabella could take 40-70 units, crows feet 30-40 units, and  forehead 20-30. The number of units vary between patient to patient depending how strong your muscles are. If at 100 units you still had a lot of movement then you possibly could have more units. Going in for a follow up at 2 weeks allows the injector to see your movement and evaluate to see if you needed more.

Thank you for your question. Every injector is going to have their own protocols for injection technique and dosing. My typical starting dose in women for the glabella (11's) is 60 units, for the crow's feet 60 units and lateral brow lift an additional 12 units. I have patients follow up at 2 weeks if they have any concerns.
