Thanks for your question and the photo you provided. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon because they will need more information and more photos to create a well crafted surgical plan. Based on this one photo, it is possible you have breast tissue and could benefit from a combination of liposuction with gland/tissue excision. Good luck!
Dear Adventurous272206,Thank you for your question and photo. It is difficult to say for sure without an in-person consultation, but from looking at your photo, you may be a good candidate for gynecomastia repair. This may help to potentially remove some of the excess skin and tissue from the chest and under the nipple area. This may possibly be done in conjunction with liposuction to potentially give better contour. I suggest at this current time that you schedule a virtual or an in-person consultation with a board-certified Plastic Surgeon to go over your specific goals, expectations, and to develop a unique plan for you. Best of luck and stay safe!
Thank you for your photos. Yes...this is gynecomastia and can be nicely treated. This can be done through direct excision using an incision around the nipple. It can also be removed using minimally invasive techniques though a small puncture in your armpit area. Any surrounding gynecomastia of the breast outside of the nipple area can also be removed at the same time.
Photo provided does not allow a definite diagnosis to be made. You probably have a component of gynecomastia, and surgery would improve this. Skype or in-office consult would be necessary for evaluation of the extent of your gynecomastia and to give you the best recommendation regarding whether liposuction, excision, or a combination of both would be the best approach. Whether you have puffy nipples or puffy areolae, both can be corrected in a small procedure under local anesthesia.
Hi Adventurous272206Treatment options for enlarged male breasts depend on the amount of breast enlargement and the amount of associated excess skin. Treatment options for enlarged male breasts depend on the amount of breast enlargement and the amount of associated excess skin.
Dear Adventurous272206,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photo, it looks like you have gynecomastia. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
All people have breast tissue. In some men it develops more than others. When men’s breast issue started developing giving at the appearance of having a developed breast we typically called gynecomastia. It’s typically a combination of glandular breast tissue and fat. If your nipple areola is enlarged then you have more developed breast tissue. This usually happens despite normal hormone levels because the breast tissues are overly sensitive to normal form levels.I suggest having multiple in person consultations With local board-certified plastic surgeons.Whether diagnosed with gynecomastia or not the treatment is the same.In that sense it makes no difference if it’s going to come last year or over developed chest or extra fat or whatever you wanna call it.It’s almost always a combination of fat and some extra breast tissue. And some men it’s more fat than others it’s more breast issueFairly straightforward to differentiate during an examination. For men who have more breast tissue they often get better surgical results when an open direct excision of breast tissue is done in conjunction with Liposuction.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
Thank you for your question and photo.Yes, this does appear to be gynecomastia which is a combination of fat and excess glandular tissue. The puffy, enlarged.nipples are a tell tale sign. Liposuction and direct excision will treat the issue and typically shrinks the areola (something we see on the OR table as it happens). When the gland is disconnected from the subareolar tissue, the areola tends to shrink. Contouring the chest to a flat masculine appearance with liposuction smooths the result. Not even all board certified plastic surgeons are adept at this technique, so interview several until you feel comfortable. Best wishes,Dr. Morrissey
