Is Belladerm recommended for a dorsal camouflage graft?

Question

A surgeon I consulted with mentioned I may need a dorsal graft to camouflage some irregularities thanks to a hump removal and subsequent open roof. We intend to fix the open roof and may need a soft tissue graft. This surgeon recommends Belladerm. Thoughts? There isn’t much research I’ve found stating it’s a great or poor choice.

You have a pretty significant deformity.  I would recommend your own tissue.   I have success with fat grafting in many occasions.  Occasionally it needs a second treatment because it is important to not over correct but it lasts many years.  I would be concerned about uncorrectable irregularities with Belllafil.   Too much would be needed. It is more appropriate nfor small acne scars

My recommendation is to use autologous material. I don't know about Belladerm in the nose. But, I do know about deep temporals fascia on the dorsum.  This is my recommendation.

In our practice,  when the patient's need a dorsal camouflage graft,  we harvested a small piece of temporalis fascia from the scalp just above the ear.  This is patient's own natural tissue.
