Mini facelift - what if more is needed later?

I am thinking about getting a mini (facelift. I am not young but have seen friends who are my age (mid 60s) who had this procedure with the same doc and they look great. Some after 5 years. I just don't want all the downtime and risk of a deep plane. My question is if I am not satisfied with the results or if they fade too quickly, will having had a mini lift prevent or impede the effectiveness of a more complex procedure ie. deep plane etc. in a few years?
