Hello, Im wondering if a mini facelift with SMAS tightening would be appropriate for my concerns with my lower facial drooping around mouth and jawline? 45 years is my age and I have already done non-invasive treatments in the past such as Morpheus8 and therm tight. I am looking for a more noticeable improvement to my lower facial dropping. Thank you for any feedback.

Based off your photos - your cheeks have good position and volume at the age of 45, but there is some jowling towards the lower part of your face. An endoscopic midface lift would help address some of the things you are looking for in rejuvenating your face. Not much else is needed as you still have good health volume throughout your face and good position of all your facial features. Seek out a few different consultations and then decide on which surgeon fits you and your needs best.

Yes, a mini-facelift with SMAS tightening will address the layer of your face which causes your lower facial and jaw looseness.  As the SMAS is moved in a superior/posterior direction, the corners of the mouth smooth and elevate and the jaw line becomes straighter and smoother.  Have a detailed consultation with a plastic surgeon to understand what a mini facelift entails and your recovery time.

It is most appropriate for patients to inquire here at RealSelf about what treatment(s) produce what results.  However, each surgeon incorporates different aptitudes and techniques and each and every patient is different so it is improper to generalize.  The best answer is by simulating the result of the procedure you're considering in the office.  If you like the surgeon's honestly simulated result by his/her/their manual repositioning of skin and deeper tissues, that may be a worthwhile investment for you.  Often however, treatments from the side of the face (facelift) do not sufficiently improve features in the central face, i.e. around the lips.  Sometimes, superficial liposuction, corner of lip lift, mid-face lift, etc. produce what you want more directly.

You are an excellent candidate for an eccentric lip lift. This does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. This takes 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $4,000.

You should consider liposuction under local with quantum and Morpheus to help give that great neck, lower face / jawline. You probably aren’t ready for a face/neck lift yet.

Lower facial sagging around the jawline and mouth, age 45, and prior non-invasive treatments. A mini facelift with SMAS tightening could indeed be an appropriate next step. A mini facelift can be performed under general anesthesia, and the recovery is usually quicker than a full facelift while still providing a significant improvement in lower facial sagging.
