I usually hide my eyes with glasses or hair in my face and I would like to feel more confident about myself. I don't want to feel like I have to wear glasses anymore. Therefore, I was thinking of getting the following procedures done: rhinoplasty, upper lid eye surgery and a lip reduction. I would like to start this summer. Also, doing something to help my eyebrows grow would help. Years of terrible wax jobs have prevented my eyebrows from growing in normally.

Answer: Facial asymmetry The patient is concerned about her eyelids as well as her nose and lip. Asymmetry which is very common, almost universal, can be treated with cosmetic surgery although it will not be perfectly symmetrical. I think the patient's assessment and expectations are reasonable. She should go to a cosmetic surgeon skilled in treating these areas.

Answer: How to balance an assymetric face Balancing an assymetric face requires balancing soft tissue fullness and augmenting deficient skeletal bone where needed. A consideration would be to pursue dermal fillers as a temporary measure to ascertain your desires. Dermal Fillers can be made from several different substances with the goal of improving youthfulness, treating wrinkles, maintaining skin volume, and treating facial contour abnormalities. Hyaluronic acid fillers (HA) is a natural substance (complex sugar) found in all living organisms. It hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to the skin. It is found in connective tissue throughout the body, including the dermis of the skin. HA dermal fillers include Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Voluma, and Belotero. To maintain its presence in the tissue, the HA is cross-linked by various techniques. It is an important component of youthful, supple, and elastic skin, and helps to maintain skin volume. As we age, our skin loses HA, contributing to the formation of wrinkles. The incidence of complications with HA is low, and the treatment of complications is relatively straightforward with the use of hyaluronidase. In many ways, HAs are the ideal filler.Dermal fillers add volume to help restore youthful contours, so you’ll see results immediately following your treatment. They can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines), the area just below the nose and above the upper lip; the corners of the mouth; and marionette lines—the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline.Complementing this approach, a rhinoplasty to anchor the midline of the face and upper eyelid surgery can make a significant impact on facial aesthetics.
