Part of the nose bridge still projects outwards 11 months post-op, do I need a revision rhinoplasty? (Photos)

Hello! I had a rhinoplasty on December 14, 2022. I broke my nose as a child and wanted a hump removed from my bridge. I love the tip of my nose, but part of the bridge of my nose still projects outwards. I’m almost a year post op and I don’t like what I’m seeing. Could it be swelling or do I need a revision rhinoplasty?

Your nose appears to be healing well and edema can take up to two years to fully resolve in revision cases. I think your surgeon performed a very nice revision and you should enjoy your new nose.

Hi gentle. It dpeends on what the cartilage is being used for and how much you need. Rib cartilage is much stronger and obviously a lot straighter than ear cartilage but it is also a bigger ordeal. If you don't need much cartilage or if it's used for a curvy area, then ear cartilage can be great.

You absolutely still have swelling at 6mo- in fact, patients report they still see changes to their nose even 3-5 years after surgery. the risk of doing the surgery too soon is that your nose has not had enough time to recover from the first surgery, meaning that you are putting the skin at risk...
