Hello doctors. 5 days ago I had a syringe of juvaderm injected in my upper and lower lips. It was injected In lip line and lip body. I have a strange bruise outsude of the injection area! It looks like a mustache... Is this normal ? I am scared it is a shadow from the lip being bigger versus a bruise. Other than my mustache, I am happy with the result beside this bruise! I emailed the doctor and she told me it was normal that the bruising can extend oitside of the injection area . Thanks!

Answer: Moustache bruise after Juvederm. Is this normal
It is not very common for this to happen, however, it is possible that it can move it the trauma is significant enough and occures within the first few days after the injection. I would recommend going back to see your provider. If it did in fact move, they should be able to the move the filler...
This problem can usually be helped in my experience with a combination of focused massage, more filler where it's needed, and Vitrase where one might want to destroy some filler. Be sure to discuss your results, after 7 days of injection, with your doctor, if things aren't right.
My experience with Juvederm is that patients will experience a bit of swelling - perhaps an exaggerated result - for a few days. By the end of a week, it should be down to where it'll stay for a few months. The time to judge the results is around 5-7 days.
