Uneven lips after Juvederm, top lip overhangs. Any suggestions? (photo)

The upper lip appears bruised and most likely it is protruding from the swelling. Give it two weeks for the swelling to dissipate, at which point you may follow up with your injector for assessment.

You likely still have significant swelling from the Juvederm treatment since it's only been 2 days. You will also have more swelling because you bruised. I would recommend waiting 7-10 days for your final result. If the upper lip is still too full I would have your treating physician inject hyaluronidase to the area which will dissolve the Juvederm product. Best wishes. 

You still have swelling and bruising which can be normal at 2 days.  You need to let the inflammation subside to see the result.  If it is still over corrected, you can get some hyaluronidase injected to remove the filler.  

This problem can usually be helped in my experience with a combination of focused massage, more filler where it's needed, and Vitrase where one might want to destroy some filler.  Be sure to discuss your results, after 7 days of injection, with your doctor, if things aren't right.

Return to see the injecting doctor to explain Juvederm healing. It takes up to 1 week for swelling to subside. 

It can be either swelling or excess filler that is causing concern.  At 2 days it is likely that it will resolve at least partially so the best course of action is to massage and give it time, up to 3 or 4 weeks.  If it has not gone down in that period of time then excess filler is probably the cause and it can be reversed with hyaluronidase.

The lips tend to swell quite a bit after lip injections.  Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it gets worse over the first day or two.  BUT, it will almost certainly go away.  I do no re-inject or revise/dissolve any filler for at least two weeks as it takes that long to know the final result.  You may want to make a follow up with your provider at the two week mark just in case you still have concerns.  I routinely see everyone back at that point.  I'm sure it'll turn out great and rest assured it can be dissolved if you aren't happy with it!Best of luck

I always tell my patients to not love their filler
injections for 2 weeks. Swelling is very common and sometimes immediate. It can
last 3-7 days and a good idea is to use cold compresses. Cold compresses may be
used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling only if needed. This may be
applied for 3 minutes, 3 times per day, for up to 3 days. This is best done
with a bag of peas in a zip lock bag. Only apply light pressure to the area but
gentle massage might be necessary if the bump is from the filler material
itself. Get Arnica gel if you can find some and apply a few times a day as well
to help treat any swelling. Avoid any blood thinners. Bruising can also last
1-2 weeks. I don't recommend hyaluronidase this early and wait a few weeks
until the swelling has resolved. If it is persistent or you are worried, set up
a follow up appointment with your dermatologist.

Hello Lozg,There are two possibilities for what is going on right now.  The first possibility is that the person over injected.  A lot of people like this look because from the front it looks nice but from the side it has been called a "duck look." I prefer to be more conservative to avoid the duck look but that is my personal preference.  However, you are only two days out and there is certainly swelling that could be taking place.  I'd give it at least two weeks before considering anything that could remove it such as injecting an enzyme that dissolves it.  Of course if you resort to that injection then you lose the money you spent on the original injection so this is a last resort.  The good thing is you shouldn't be worried as Juvederm an be readily dissolved if you aren't pleased.  I hope this helps and good lcuk.  

Did you have filler in your lower lip as well?  Yes, your upper lip is a bit larger.  This will lessen with time.  If you don't like it after 2 weeks, you may need some filler to the bottom lip to even it out or something to dissolve the upper lip a bit.
