My implant has rotated and my doctor told me to try to rotate it back but I am struggling? (photo)

Hi. If your truly have a tear drop shaped implant, no amount of manipulation will casue that implant to return 180 degrees. If indeed it is a shaped implant, it is textured. The texture adheres to the surrounding tissue. It is highly unusual for the implant to have rotated 3 months post-op. This may happen at the time of insertion or in the immediate post-op period, not 3 months later. Surgery would be your best option. Good luck, Dr. PG

It would be very hard to manipulate a textured shaped implant 180 degrees into position.  If it has in fact rotated, a surgery to reposition it would be advisable. 

Shaped implants are great... except when they rotate. Once this happens, the only long term solution to prevent further rotation is to remove the scar tissue, tighten the pocket space, put a drain, and hope the new capsule adheres to the implant to keep it in position. Trying to rotate an implant back into position is a fool's errand. Even if you are able to somehow rotate it back, it could rotate again in a few days. What I've found is that most women with shaped implants convert to round implants after rotation in order to avoid this issue in the future. Unfortunately, this may be your best option as well.

Unfortunately, if your implant has rotated, it is best to have a surgical revision performed. You will not be able to rotate it in the pocket. See you surgeon. Best wishes. 

You need to be seen by your original surgeon or obtain in person opinions from other PSs in your area. Might need re operation? 

Rotation is one of the potential disadvantages of a shaped implant.  It would be appropriate to make an appointment with your surgeon and discuss whether revision is needed.
