I am only 41, and I had a neck lift 2 1/2 years ago. I have a lot of sun damage and both parents have droopy necks. I was not satisfied with the initial results, but my doctor said nothing else could be done. Now it is sagging again and looks even worse. I am super self conscious about it because it makes me look do much older than I am. Can anything be done to help this? Please?
Answer: Re do a Neck Lift Good Afternoon Anonymous0973Thank you for your question. The short answer is yes. This is a simple procedure which should give you much longer results than you seem to be experiencing.Neck Lift Surgery or Platysmaplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure to help contour and reduce loose skin around the neck. A combination of excess skin excision, liposuction and internal tightening are used in Neck Lift Surgery to achieve your desired look and shape. For those who have excess fat under the chin but still have good muscle tone and skin, liposuction of the neck will be sufficient. If the skin has lost elasticity, removal of excess skin (Neck Lift Surgery) to tighten and tone the neck will also be required.Tightening of the platysma muscle (also known as platysmaplasty) will require a small incision under the chin away from direct view to gain access to the front edge of the muscles on the neck; they are sutured together with permanent stitches. The muscles of the neck are the foundations and building blocks of the neck and are fundamental to achieving a tight and toned result.Make sure you find a reputable and qualified plastic surgeon who can assess you properly to give you a realistic idea of what outcome you can achieve.

Answer: Revision neck lifting Thanks for posting your question and photo. Everyone ages after surgery and some patients may need revision surgery sooner than others. After 2.5 years it is all right to do from a safety point of view. From what I see you can improve from revisional neck lifting which should include skin excision, liposuction, and possible muscle tightening. I would add there is some jowling seen and you may consider a facelift with a neck lift as well. Please consult with a board certified facial plastic / plastic surgeon experienced in facial rejuvenation surgery.

Answer: Additional Neck Lift Surgery It is indeed possible to have an additional neck lift surgery performed if the results of the first surgery are not up to par with your expectations. Provided that enough time has passed- in your case, two and a half years should be sufficient- a second neck lift can make results more dramatic and pronounced. You may want to consult the surgeon who performed your initial neck lift, or may want to do research and find a new, certified surgeon with whom you wish to move forward.

Answer: Another neck lift 2 years later Yes, another neck lift or face lift is possible 2 years after the original surgery. Plastic surgery doesn't "stop the clock", but rather sets back the clock a few years. Patients continue to age and get sagging tissue. Sun damage will age a person faster, but genetics plays a role in appearance too. Without an office examination, it's difficult to determine appropriate options for you, but options may possibly include a neck lift, lower face lift, liposuction, or chin implant. If you haven't already, then speak with a facelift surgeon to review options best for you.Best of luck,Dr. Chaboki

Answer: Revision neck lift It would be very helpful to see a profile view, however on the frontal view alone I can identify a number of issues that can be addressed, thus improve the quality and longevity of the result. I see what appears to be a digastric muscle bulge on the left, poor mandibular definition(which helps support the neck) and per your history, genetic and solar damage. You may or may not need the neck surgically revised but I would tighten the skin and rejuvenate its quality, restoring collagen and elasticity, and enhance jawline definition and support with fat grafting.Hope this helps
