Hello, thank you for your question. Every patient is unique. In general, I recommend waiting 6 months after having a baby, assuming you are not planning on having more children. If you are breast feeding, then I recommend you wait 6 months after you have stopped breast feeding, if you are considering a breast procedure as part of your mommy makeover. Your ultimate decision should be determined after an individual consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.Best wishes, good luck.Charles A. Messa, III, MD, FACS
Hi & thanks for your question. Wait about 6 months after having a baby. You will want to be at a healthy, stable weight prior to surgery.Best wishes!
Hello and thank you for your question. Generally speaking, I would tell my patients to wait until they have lost most of the pregnancy weight before any body contouring procedure. A period of 6-12 months is reasonable. I would seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a full evaluation and advice.Best wishes and good luck, Pejman Aflaki, M.D. Johns Hopkins-trained double board-certified plastic surgeon
Thank you for your question. I would recommend to wait 3-6 months after delivering and you finishing breast feeding. To achieve more long lasting results, your weight should be stable and close to your ideal weight. It is difficult to give an exact number since everybody does recover differently after a having a baby.I do recommend you being seeing and evaluated by a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the areas you would like to have addressed. Based on the surgical plan that will be developed specifically for you, the time line and post-operative instructions including limitations and activity restrictions will be discussed with you.Best wishes,Franziska Huettner
Thanks for your question. Patients usually have to wait around 6 months after giving birth and have also stopped breast feeding. Combination procedures can give powerful results but SAFETY is KEY. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
hello thank you for your question and provided information as well.. based in you question is recommended after 7 month after delivery for the baby
Thanks for an excellent question, I would wait at least six months after delivery and at least three months after stopping breast feeding, try to get to a stable weight which reflects fitness, health, and lifestyle. Then seek the in person consultation with a plastic surgeon. Good Luck.
It would be best to wait for about 6-12 months prior to having surgery. This will give your body time for any of the swelling to go down and for skin changes to finalize, and you may still be losing the weight from pregnancy. you should also consider the effect of breast feeding on your breasts (if you intend on breast feeding). Once you are ready you should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.
If you are finished having children you should wait 6 months after childbirth and breastfeeding before having surgery. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to learn what options are available to you. Good luck.
Recovery from an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery varies from mommy to mommy. I have had several patients who were not breast feeding complete the surgery after three months. In my opinion, waiting six months gives the patient more time to return to her non-pregnancy weight and regain energy to go through the TT, BAM, and breast list. Be sure that you have a good support system to help with the baby as you will not be able to do any strenuous lifting for 4-6 weeks after surgery.
Dear ax2ilyxo, I understand your concern. It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition,...
Hi and welcome to our forum! I do not recommend that patients remove their own drains for several reasons. There is an element of discomfort associated with drain removal. Some patients will not tolerate it. Drains have been known to break off. They sometimes have to be measured after...
Hello, and thank you for your question and your photos. While I cannot say for certain without an in-person evaluation, you appear to be a good candidate for a breast lift, a tummy tuck and liposuction — all of which can be performed at the same time, usually as part of a Mommy Makeover. I...
The amount of time for drains varies per patient. Drains reduce the chance of infection and speed up recovery by preventing a build up of fluids in the surgical site. The color and amount of fluid will determine when the drains can safely be removed. Be sure to consult with a board certified...
Most surgeons provide compression garments for their patients. If your surgeon does not, your surgeon would be the best person to advise you as to what you need to get. Good luck.
Hello and thank you for your question. In the absence of a specific cardiac history, you should probably be able proceed without a cardiology clearance. I would seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a full evaluation and advice. Best wishes and good luck, ...
