My measurements before my tummy tuck with lipo, breast lift and implants are: hip40, waist 34.5,under Breast 33, breast37.5, above breast 34, thigh22, arm11, torso 14 What size compression garments should I get for stage 1 and stage 2 I’m very confused and need help Thanks

Dear vanperela,
most plastic surgeons recommend compression garments after tummy tuck in order to reduce swelling and promote healing. Your compression garment should be tight but not too tight to cause pain or discomfort. I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.
It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

Thanks for your question. The place where you get the fajas should be able to recommend you the size. I would recommend you try them on to find the right one for you. We typically have our patients wear compression garments on the areas we did liposuction to help the skin and underlying tissues re-adhere as well as reduce swelling. However, if you garments are too tight they can restrict lymphatic drainage and blood flow leading to more swelling and complications. I'd highly suggest you contact your surgeon's office regarding your plan. Best of luck!

Hi Vanperela, Typically, size of compression garment is selected by the plastic surgeon. I would call your plastic surgeons office and let them know your measurements and they will be able to assist you best. It is important that your garment is providing adequate compression, but not to the point where it is cutting off circulation or indenting on your skin.

The PS you have selected to perform your MM should provide you with post operative instructions, one of which will be the type of compression garment and length of wear.Our office provides our MM patients with an adjustable compression garment manufactured by Clear Point.  The  patients like the support it provides to the back and to the abdomen.  The only complaint I have heard is related to the "itchiness" of the fabric which can be remedied by wearing a soft t-shirt under the garment.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
Each doctor has their own protocol It is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions.
It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery. I ask my patients to change to a smaller garment as soon as the first starts feeling loose.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

The sizing and style of compression garments varies by manufacturer.  Your surgeon is your best resource to help you select the proper garments based on your surgical plan.  Garments should fit snugly, but not be uncomfortable.
