I'm 3 days post op. Bulbs not filling up and leaking from the drainage site. Should I be concerned?

Sounds as if your drains are clogged and need to be stripped. Call your surgeon for instructions or better yet, go in for an appointment. Best, Dr. Nazarian

The drains sound like they are occluded.  It is ok for the fluid to drain around the tubes, but it is very messy.  Try to strip the drains as much as you can to get any clot or tissue clear and get in to see your surgeon as quickly as possible.  It it more concerning that they won't call you back.

It is common to have fluid drained from around the drain sites after a tummy tuck/abdominoplasty. Your tubes maybe clogged and need to be "Stripped." I would recommend seeing your plastic surgeon to have them show you what to do and help determine if you are accumulating fluid in the area of the tummy tuck/abdominoplasty.It is imperative that you seek the advice of a plastic
surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has
extensive experience in tummy tuck/abdominoplasty.

What you describe is not terribly uncommon. I personally do not use drains but sometimes fluid can find its way to the outside along the path of the drain not necessarily through it.

Hello dear, thanks for your question and provided information as well. I suggest you to visit your surgeon for a check up, as you're telling, your drain must be clogged, you need to review that, because the liquid cannot go anywhere !

It sounds as though your drains are clogged or blocked off in the tubing.  This can be solved by "stripping" the tubing, which your surgeon or his/her staff could instruct you on over the phone.  If the bulbs for your drains are filling up with air, there could be a reason they are not holding suction.  Either way, it is not dangerous or unusual to leak from around the tubing until you have a chance to talk with your surgeon.   Best of luck!  

THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM.  IN ALMOST ALL CASES IT IS THE FACT THAT YOUR DRAINS ARE CLOGGED AND BACKING UP.  THIS CAN USUALLY BE RESOLVED BY "STRIPPING THE DRAINS TO REMOVE CLOGS!  I SUGGEST CALLING YOUR SURGEON'S OFFICE FOR INSTRUCTIONS!
