Will a needle aspiration remove my lumps after BBL? (Photos)

Question

I had my BBL 01/25/17. Do I contact a plastic surgeon or a regular doctor? Please help. Every month my butt was getting smaller. I notice were I was losing fat lumps were starting to appear. My DR. who is out the country told me to massage it. My lumps R painless & tumor like, they’re only sore when I massage them. The lumps are even bigger. It's not noticeable only when I bend over it pokes out. I did research and came to the conclusion that I have fat necrosis & I have the lumps because of the oily content that was release from the dead fat cells.

It is very likely that you made right diagnosis regarding cause of your lumps/irregularities. In massive fat grafting and in particular with some techniques, there is tendency for formation of large fat graft areas (lakes) which in time turn into cysts. Once cyst opens, oil content may be absorbed by body or felt as fluctuation. Cyst cavity scars and creates hard lumps which may be palpable and visible as irregularities on the surface. Aspiration of cysts (you may have Ultrasound imaging of the area first) and fat grafting is the way to treat this deformity in long run. Thank you for your photos and questions. I would agree with your assessment that you are probably having problems with fat cell death and necrosis but it is hard to say for sure without an in-person exam. This is one of the main reasons I try to discourage people from having surgery overseas. Sure, you might save a few bucks up front, but what does it cost you in the long run? You have a procedure by someone who may or may not be qualified to do the procedure and then when you get home and into trouble and have problems,you have no one to turn to. At this point, your best bet is to contact a local plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and set up a consultation, but be prepared to compensate that surgeon for his or her time.Hope this helps!Dallas R. Hi and thanks for the question and photos. You are best following up with a plastic surgeon regarding this problem. It appears that you have either oil cysts are fat necrosis. Oil cysts can be aspirated with a needle although the fluid can recur. Fat necrosis is hard tissue that may have to be removed surgically. Best of Luck - Dr. Hardy...
