When will the lower back liquid after lipo stop?

I recently got lipo, BBL & TT. Lipo on my whole back & I have gotten already 12 lymphatic drainage massages still got 13 more to go & am still retaining liquid in my lower back! When does it stop?! How can I prevent it from coming back!?

Thank you for your question. Healing after liposuction and brazilian butt lift is usually pretty straight forward.  There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens.  It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months before the swelling is completely gone, so please be patient. I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results.
If you have any concerns, or if the situation doesn't improve, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Thank you for your question. Swelling after surgery can easily take up to 6-7 months after your surgery , so not worry too much about it. Do your massages and most importantly wear a garter for the first 3-5 months post op. Best of luck

Molina,Thanks for the question.  The swelling after liposuction can take up to 6 months to fully resolve.  The massages are good, but can be expensive.  Massages are not required.  They do help move fluid around, but 24 sessions are a bit excessive.  Don't get brainwashed that you will not heal without massages.  I was doing liposuction without post-op massages fro over 20 years and every healed just fine.Dr T
