How long does lidocaine last in filler?

Hi! Once filler (Juvederm, Restylane) is injected how long does lidocaine stay in your skin? Does it stay as long as the filler lasts or dissolve before then? Thank you!

The elimination half life of Lidocaine is 90 to 120 minutes in most patients than means half of it is gone within 2 hours and in 4 hours your body will have eliminated more than 3/4 of it. The numbing effect will be gone within an hour. If you are concerned about lidocaine toxicity, the amount of Lidocaine in a 1cc syringe of filler is such a small amount that it is almost insignificant. A true allergy to local anesthetic is uncommon, but if your were told by a doctor that you are allergic to Lidocaine, you should probably get the fillers without lidocaine and use ice for numbing.

Lidocaine is used during antesthesia. Lidocaine won't stay on your body a long time. İt will dissolve in two hours.

Lidocaine is metabolized by the body pretty rapidly.  The half life is 90-120 minutes in most patients.  The amount of lidocaine in filler is so small that you generally have most of your sensation back an hour post injection.  It certainly does not last as long as the filler does, which can be anywhere from 6-18 months.

while lidocaine has a very quick onset of anesthesia, it typically lasts 20-60 minutes. how long it lasts in a particular person depends on how quickly it is metabolized (i always ask how quickly anesthesia wears off at the dentist for a reference.)

Thank goodness for lidocaine!  As a physician, I can't imagine a world without it.  
For the most part, the vast majority is out of your system (via your kidney) in a few hours.  If you want to be official, the half life of lidocaine is 1.5 hours.  If you multiple this by 7, it takes about 10.5 hours for it to be nearly entirely excreted.  The effects are long gone by then.  Other things can delay lidocaine removal like liver disease.  
The amount used in aesthetic medicine is very small.  It is possible to get lidocaine toxicity...but this would be very rare with aesthetic treatments.

The common anesthetic in fillers is lidocaine without added epinephrine which decreases blood flow making the lidocaine last longer.It normally lasts for an hour plus or minus 20 min or so. It does not sit mixed in the filler which lasts for months to years.

Lidocaine  in the filler will last few minutes to about an hour after the procedure. It would  help minimize the pain and discomfort during the procedure.
