Can I dissolve stomach fat with injections? (Photo)

Question

I am currently 1 year and 6 month post-op. I also have a slight muscle separation diastasis recti. If I do injections to dissolve fat will it fix the pooch I have in the middle?

From what I can see based upon the provided photo, I think you can try Mesotherapy to melt the fat. This would involve a series of treatments.  However, an in person examination is needed to evaluate the diastasis and fat to confirm this.  Another possibility would be Emsculpt which could address both issues.

If you have small problem areas you may have success with non-invasive methods like Coolsculpting with Vanquish or trusculpt iD to get small areas of fat reduced. Skin also tightens if you combine this with Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, and Inmode Forma/Contoura radiofrequency treatments. You boost the results from Coolsculpting if you add in Kybella injections to melt fat as well. We often combine Coolsculpting with shock therapy like ZWave, EVIVE, and Cellutone to get even faster results, more improvement, and less risk of combinations like nodules, swelling, neuropathy or paradoxical hyperplasia. Coolsculpting often takes a few treatments separated 8 to 12 weeks apart to get significant improvement. 
However, to get the most fat removal, contouring, skin tightening and definition, a VASER HI-DEF Revision Liposuction procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite and fat grafting is your best bet. Fat dissolving injections would not be at the top of my list for you. EMSculpt or CoolSculpting may be an option, but again, you would need an in-person evaluation to know for sure. Thanks for sharing with us this question and image as it will be informative for the whole community here. First, I believe that you should visit a Dr.(Primary or  General surgeon) to rule out Hernia if you have not done so already.
  
Back to your question, the short answer is yes. There are different modalities to treat this. Injection of Kybella or phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate (PCDC) can be done to almost any pockets of fat in the body. PCDC is a compounded medication similar to Kybella and can be as or more useful actually.It contains two medications instead of one. The good news is that PCDC injection is cheaper as well.
  
Also, the studies with Kybella and PCDC showed that up to 90% of patients started to have a noticeable effect between the third to the fifth injection. So, keep in mind that it is not a one-time treatment. You will also probably need to tighten the skin after the treatments with other modalities.

Dear Christine804:Patients who cannot have CoolSculpting because of diastasis recti can have Kybella injections, liposuction, ThermiTight or SculpSure. Kybella can be quite effective for small fat deposits. Liposuction and ThermiTight may be overly aggressive for a small problem. The pooch is the result of your diastasis and injections will not affect it.  I do not believe that the efficacy of such injections has been documented in independent clinical trials.  Losing weight should reduce the fat.
