Hi! I have had filler a couple of times in the past and I really swell! I’ve had my lips done once and I loved it, but I’m reluctant to get them done again simply because of the downtime. I had swollen up so much! If I was to have fillers again, would taking prednisolone reduce the downtime? Thank you for your advice

Hey there - thanks for the question! It's difficult to fully advise without a picture. Swelling is totally normal after fillers, even injecting the needle in to the lip without adding filler would cause swelling for a week or so. Icing after fillers helps. Prednisolone would only help if the filler was causing an allergic reaction, and if this is the case you could have a more serious one the next time you inject a filler.

Swelling maybe related to injection technique as well as type of filler used. Certain fillers tend to swell more then others. I would have this discussion with your physician prior to treatment. I usually try to avoid steroids if I can.
