The initial swelling after Kybella lasts 3-5 days and can be quite significant. However, persistent hardness and nodularity can be present for several weeks after treatment depending on the amount of fat and the amount of kybella injected. Persistent nodules can be injected with steroid solution and treated with anti-inflammatory medications. Best advice is to contact the physician who injected it and return to be evaluated. Best of luck.
Your neck looks typicl after Kybella. he swellign and redness will subside. I generally recommend massage but you should check in with your own doc.
Thank you for your question. Any residual swelling following Kybella injections will often take several weeks to fully dissipate.(4-6 on average) The process of Kybella’s acidic properties is to destroy the fat cells. Lumpiness can be common as the swelling begins to go down. It should resolve in time. However if the lumpiness does not decrease in size, discuss it with your provider. Best Regards,Dr. Weiss
Thank you for your picture and questions. I am not sure how long ago you had the procedure. It often takes 6-8 weeks for the swelling to go away completely, so try to be patient. Without pre-procedure photos, it is hard to say if you were a good candidate or what kind of result you should expect. If the area is warm and tender, then you need to be seen to make sure there is not an infection.Best of luck!
Once swelling goes away you should not have a lump. It's best you see your Dr to make sure you haven't developed an infection.
The FDA approved indication is for fat deposits smaller than the one featured in your photo. You and your physician may choose to do an off label treatment. However, it is very likely that you will need larger quantities of Kybella and many services. That starts to be a very expensive and unsatisfactory why of improving neck and chin fat. It would be unrealistic to expect much of an improvement even with 5 or 6 Kybella services. You might want to reconsider this approach to actual liposuction.
Dear BingoG54,based on your photo, your lump doesn't look normal to me. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Regarding the Kybella, Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Hello,I am not sure but I see some pinkish/ red area of skin. I recommend you to seek medical opinion asap.It may be inflammation or even infection.Aside from that, I am not sure if Kybella would be a good choice for you when you have jowels involved too. Look into Tumescent Liposuction as a possible method of treatment. All the Best -- Dr Ray
Dear medalla69, Thank you for your question. I recommend you seek an in-person evaluation with your surgeon to best address your concerns, as it is difficult to perform a thorough evaluation based on photographs alone. Swelling and bruising can be expected to occur in the area that was...
You can definitely take Hydrocodone for your pain, in most cases it's not necessary. If the pain persists call your Doctor to make sure there isn't something else going on.
By chin strap, I think you mean a soft neoprene like chin strap like we use after liposuction of the chin. If that is what you mean, I don't think there is any harm is wearing a chin strap. I just want to be sure we are not talking about a tight chin strap that goes on a helmet or something ...
