Although it is a good idea to be able to look this type of stuff up, it just is not really available anywhere. However, you can still get a really good feel for a surgeon by looking at a few things:1) bio on website....are they proud of their training and they put it up on the website? That's usually a good sign. If you cannot find out what their background or training is, that means they may not want you to know. Most of us trained for a really long time and are very happy for patients to know that we have done thousands of surgeries and know how to do them safely. You would not want someone who took a weekend course to do your lipo/BBL/tummy tuck, etc....2) Reviews (Real Self, Yelp, Etc....).....surgeons who strive for safety, results, patient care, patient experience also value the reviews that they get. You will often find a lot of hidden answers within a doctor's reviews that will lead you one way or another. 3) Photos/experience.....either by instagram, Real Self, website, or in person. If you talk to a surgeon and they can show you lots of photos, or you feel they can speak to your case specifically with no BS and are realistic about your results, you are on the right track.Ultimately you should do the above research and get a few consults with board certified plastic surgeons. You will probably find one that stands out to you and you feel comfortable with that can deliver the results you desire, safely. Good luck on your journey!Ramsen Azizi M.D.Double Board Certified Plastic SurgeonR.A.M. Plastic Surgery - Chicago
Thank you for your question. My recommendation to select a surgeon research the experience, the reviews and the results. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Hello, thank you for your question. I do not think you can find that information. It is hard to make a decision sometimes as to who would be best to perform the surgery that we desire. I would focus on the big picture since we can get lost and confused with the details. Is the plastic surgeon well trained, board certified, have good before and after photos? Do you feel comfortable with him/her? Does the surgeon have good reviews? Those are the big picture basics that will guide you toward the right decision for you.
I am not aware that information you are looking for exist, unfortunately. Looking at surgeon's profile on web site, before and after photos, reviews, word of mouth and, in particular, in person consultation with 2-3 prospective surgeons, would give you enough information to make right choice. Good luck.
Dear may1787,finding the right Dr. is extremely challenging especially with the number of online platforms and resources available. There a lot of great Dr's available. Make sure he/she is a board-certified plastic surgeon. Definitely check to make sure your choice specializes in the procedure you want and spend the time to read through patient testimonials. There is a number of different sites where you can check for reviews (Realself, yelp, google, etc.).You can always pick up the phone and call around also, find an office you feel comfortable with and set up a few consultations. Hello and thank you for your question. Unfortunately, those statistics are not available. I would read their online reviews. They should have a lot. Go for some consults. Most surgeons offer complementary consultations free of charge. Ask them to show you before and after pictures of their real patients with real result. They should be able to show you numerous (not just one or two) examples. Look at the results from all angles. Then look at the facility to make sure the facility where your surgery is being performed has adequate credentials. Thank you for this question.....this one actually made me laugh which I really needed right now. Unfortunately for you, choosing a surgeon is not a fantasy football draft. There is no repository of stats. That information is private health information and not available for public knowledge. However, I do have a few suggestions for you in searching for a surgeon. 1) Make sure you are choosing a surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). There are a lot of "boards" out there but this is the ONLY board for plastic surgery that is recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Do not be fooled by alternatives, this is the one that matters. The ABPS website has a very user friendly public search where you type the doctor's name and find out whether they are ABPS certified or not. 2) Some state medical boards have public information about claims or complaints. You can search your state board website to see if this is available to you.3) Read reviews on multiple platforms to get a good average.4) Go to several consults. If you meet with a surgeon who you feel has "less than good morals," then you should not pick that person. 5) Do not choose based on price. A good surgeon is not cheap and often the reverse is true.
