Pregnancy after BBL. How will this affect the results?

I want to get the procedure done but I want to have more children in the next 3 years and wondering how will the pregnancy affect the BBL in the future. TIA

it is hard to predict how will your body change during and after pregnancy. There should be no significant changes on BBL results. However, it can affect your abdominal area. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

It depend on your pregnancy course. Some women have an easy pregnancy, some women do not. It is hard to say for sure.

Hello, thank you for your question.  Pregnancy effects every woman differently, some women barely gain any weight and that weight is localized to the abdomen. While others gain weight all over their body.  It is hard to determine what kind of impact pregnancy would have on the BBL treatment.  Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
I suggest you wait until having children, because, during and after pregnancy, your body will experience multiple changes, and the results of a BBL might be compromised.
l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

Regina,No one can predict how your body will react to pregnancy post BBL.  We do know that the fat cells increase in size as you gain weight and shrink as you lose weight (whether from diet and exercise or pregnancy...does not matter).  No one can guess which area will swell more with the weight gain and whether it will be symmetrical or not.  Just realize that after you are done with childbearing, any large areas may be reduced and any flat areas may be filled back in.Best of luck with increasing your family.Dr T

All the normal effects of pregnancy will affect your BBL including weight gain and loss of skin flexibility, which leads to skin laxity, stretch marks, sagging. However, this can be counteracted with healthy diet and consistent exercising. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing.

Great question! Many of my patients do get pregnant after the procedure. It should not affect the long term results assuming you maintain a good diet and exercise program. With weight gain, the fat cells will become larger. Make sure you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon for a thorough examination and discussion of your plans. I wish you the best!
