What safe facial would you suggest for darker pigmented skin around my mouth and nose?

darker pigmented skin around my mouth and nose. A while back I used to get facials until one day my dermatologist tried an “acidic facial mask” without telling me. It left me with scars and ever since then I’ve noticed the darker pigmentation. I’m not sure if that’s the exact cause but what safe facials would you suggest? I’m scared of invasive treatments because of my previous experience. Sensitive skin,I am currently using vit. E&tamarind oil.
