What is more effective: microcurrent or radiofrequency?

I am 39 and just starting to loose definition along the jawline. I can't decide whether to have a radiofrequency or microcurrent facial.

There are multiple options in nonsurgical skin tightening today. I use both Ultherapy, which uses focused ultrasound energy and ThermiTight, which utilizes radiofrequency energy. Both of these procedures offer excellent results to the right patient. More important than the device itself is the provider administering the treatment. I encourage you to find a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience in nonsurgical skin tightening to ensure a safe and successful procedure. Keep in mind that some methods may require more than one session to achieve complete results and a periodic touch-up session may be required to maintain them.

Hello Radio frequency will definitely tighten and firm the skin.  Depending on which system you are going with there will be multiple treatments that are required for achieving the best results.   At your age you may want to consider Ulthera (microfocused ultrasound technology)  for more deeper skin tightening and lifting.  Its result may last you a little longer and result in mire collagen stimulation and tightening. Radio frequency is definitely better for skin tightening in my opinion.  We use vivace which is microneedling with radio frequency.  This works great for tightening the skin, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and improving the overall texture of the skin.

In my opinion radio frequency would be a better option for non-surgical tightening.  I agree that it is up to the provider to ensure proper treatment at the right settings and frequency.  A board certified plastic surgeon would be a good option as they specialize in facial rejuvenation.  Keep in mind with radio frequency there will be multiple treatments required to achieve optimum results.
