I got a facial the other day. The lady took off half my face and now it is scabbing over and really red.

The first thing I would do is contact the person who did your facial! It sounds like she went a little too aggressive with a peeling agent or enzyme after extractions or dermaplane to cause scabs to form. To calm things down I would use a gentle cleanser like CeraVe and keep the skin moist so that when the scabs come off they don't cause scarring.Do NOT pick! Make sure you use SPF everyday. If the skin is red and irritated you can use an over the counter Hydro cortisone cream 2 times a day for 1 week and that should dramatically calm the skin down. Using some Bio Oil at night will help also. Restart a topical Vitamin C in 1-2 weeks. Do not use a Retinoid or any products with acids in them for 2-3 weeks.

Go back and inform the clinic/salon that you are not happy with the reaction after the facial. It  is rare facials cause this sort of reaction unless you are sensitive to the products used or whom ever did your facial was too aggressive. Cell renewal cream/serum will help speed up recovery. First of all, you should make sure that the woman who gave you the facial is aware of your reaction.  It sounds as though she was overly aggressive as a regular facial should not cause scabbing.There are several easy things you can do to reduce the inflammation and speed up the healing.  Honey is very anti-inflammatory.  Apply a thin layer of honey to your face and allow it to sit for 10-15 mins before rinsing off.  Do this 4-5 times daily until the skin is healed.  Make sure that you are using a good sunscreen whenever you are outside.  Applying a product that contains growth factors can also speed up healing.  The one I like is Skin Medica's TNS Recovery Complex.  Red light treatments can also speed healing up. 

A regular facial should never cause any type of reaction. It sounds as though the Aesthetician was very aggressive and may have used harsh chemicals. It's very important to address any skin sensitivities with your Aesthetician prior to receiving a treatment.
