Does lipo work on a mommy belly with tight skin? (photos)

Your photos indicate that you are likely dealing with some laxity of the abdominal wall, which will limit the results achievable with liposuction. Liposuction alone will address any excess fat of the subcutaneous layer of your abdomen, but will do nothing do address the laxity of your abdominal wall.  With that said, an in-person evaluation will be necessary to make a proper recommendation.  I recommend setting up a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best procedure to meet your needs. Thank you for your question.  I do believe you are a good candidate for liposuction.  It will help shrink you down a few inches and help with the contouring.  It will not help with the diastasis you have.  The only way to deal with that is a tummy tuck.  I would recommend seeing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to discuss your options and goals.  Best of luck to you. 

looking at your pictures - liposuction will improve your contour. Any protrusion of your tummy that is caused by a separation of your rectus muscles (i.e  rectus diastasis)  - which is very common after pregnancies will not be corrected by liposuction only.  In case you have a rectus diastasis  -- and a straight, flat tummy is your goal, a tummy tuck will be required in addition to the liposuction. As long as you understand the limitations and benefits of each procedure and how these go along with your expectations, you will be fine. Your plastic surgeon will guide you through the decision making process.

For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction, which can be performed at the same time as a tummy tuck, depending on skin laxity. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. Liposuction will allow you to have stubborn fat resistant to exercise and diet removed from unwanted areas (hips, stomach, thighs, back) and transferred to areas that can benefit from the added volume and will result in a waist as small as possible. Some of my patients elect to have lipo first as there are no absolutes that lipo will provide the results you are seeking, and then opt for a TT if the results are not satisfying.  After two pregnancies, you have some muscle separation which a TT would address.

Based on your photos you appear to be a good candidate for liposuction. If you have muscle separation then a tummy tuck will be the best option to achieve a flat abdomen. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  A key quality indicator is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

It is hard to tell for sure without an examination but based on your photos, it looks like you have muscle separation so liposuction probably won't provide good results. Liposuction will reduce the amount of fat in your tummy. However, after 2 pregnancies you may have some muscle separation which liposuction will not correct. See a board certified plastic surgeon who will explain all of your options to you. Good luck.
