Do I have pixie ears and what can I do for the bottom sides of my face?

Question

I went in for a lower deep plain facelift, and I believe now I have pixie ears and the sides of the drooping around my face down at the bottom are still there. What do you believe I can do?

Hello,
Thanks for your question. 
Unfortunately you may need a revision deep plane facelift. It does not seem as if your surgeon was able to reposition your jowls without creating a sweep deformity. An extended deep plane facelift will be able to improve this along with some laser resurfacing of the facial skin.
Also a closure with less tension at the earlobes will improve the pixie ear deformity you see.

I would recommend a revision facelift/necklift. This is the best way to properly redrape the skin, sculpt the underlying fat/muscles, and take the tension off the pixie ear deformity. I would recommend seeing an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon; ideally, this surgeon has extensive rhinoplasty experience and hopefully even has completed an Aesthetic fellowship accredited by the Aesthetic Society.

you have a mild elongation of the right ear lobe, and a pixie earlobe on the left. Some minor adjustments can be made under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure to fix your earlobes as long as it's been at least a year after your primary facelift.

Although you have some mild tension on the earlobe, review of your photos does not show true pixie ear deformity. That said, revisional facelift with release of your mandibular ligament may be necessary to improve your mandibular border.
