Answer: Liposuction May Enhance Contouring After a Tummy Tuck Depending on Your Goals Thank you for your question regarding contouring with a tummy tuck. You've done an incredible job getting back in shape after your pregnancies. The issue of excess skin and the "jelly belly" you're describing, particularly after significant weight fluctuations, is quite common. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is an excellent procedure for removing excess skin and tightening the abdominal muscles. However, whether you need additional contouring through liposuction depends on your specific body composition and aesthetic goals. Liposuction can help remove localized fat deposits, particularly in areas where fat might be more stubborn, and can enhance the overall contouring of your abdomen. If one surgeon is recommending liposuction while another isn't, it's likely because they have different perspectives on how to achieve the best aesthetic result. Both approaches can be valid, depending on your anatomy and the final outcome you desire. If you have a considerable amount of excess fat in addition to the skin, liposuction could provide a more refined result. However, if your primary concern is the loose skin, a tummy tuck alone may suffice. It's important to communicate clearly with your plastic surgeon about your expectations and the results you wish to achieve. Both of your consulted surgeons come highly recommended, so consider discussing your concerns with them to understand their rationale better. I recommend the tummy tuck with liposuction of the flanks for your best aesthetic result. Doing liposuction of the Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Contouring with tummy tuck? Thanks so much for your question, While a tummy tuck can certainly improve the contour of the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat, it may not address all contouring concerns, especially in areas outside the scope of the procedure. For example, if you're looking to contour areas such as the hips, waist, or back, additional procedures like liposuction may be recommended in conjunction with a tummy tuck to achieve the desired results. It's essential to have a thorough consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon to discuss your specific goals and expectations. Sincerely, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol

Answer: Contouring with tummy tuck Dear Onelifeluvit, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Abdomen You only submitted one photo from the front and no side views. Based on your one photo only, a mini tuck with liposuction should work fairly well. You will get your flattest abdomen, however, with the full tuck. Next time, please post side views too.
