I have 450cc implants I want to change to 400cc + different shape implant to take away the roundness appearance from the side +areola reduction. A surgeon said donut lift the scar is very bad around the areola +will open however I don't want anchor lift due to ugly scars. not sure whether this is always true for donut lift? Do the scars always open and does it always look very bad? What are my options? smaller different shaped implants and areola reduction? Will this give similar result to pic4?
Answer: Breast lift Dear annalondon2234, my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. Answer: Donut lift I don’t think you will look like pic4. You have a little more skin than that person and if you try to correct it with a donut lift, it will make your breast look flattened in the profile. You can achieve a little lift and smaller areolae but if you want to look tight like pic4, then you need anchor scars. I don’t think they would open but it still won’t get you what you want. Sorry.

Answer: Surgery A doughnut lift done in the appropriate patient can give a very nice result. Once the implant is exchanged, your surgeon can determine which lift would be best.

Answer: Donut scars and lift Hello and thank you for your question. While a change to a relatively smaller implant and donut scars will make you breast somewhat smaller and also reduce the size of your areola, the truth is that one of the drawbacks of the donut mastopexy is that in quite a few patients the scars do tend to spread and re-enlarge the areolas due to the nature of how the operation is done. That said, as you are downsizing the implant there should be less tension on the scars and this will help ultimately in achieving fairly reliable good results. Be sure to see a board certified PS for your consultation and surgery.

Answer: Revision Breast surgery I feel that changing your implants to s smaller size (400cc is fine) along with a little bit of capsule work (opening the scar tissue at the base of your implant pocket) along with a periareolar (around the areola) lift should give you your wish pic results. Best wishes, Dr. Taranow
