I had a breast augmentation (340cc) aged 20 in 2008 and had them removed in 2020. I was advised to have an uplift with removal. My areolas are too large despite being apparently resized to match my smaller breasts and they sit really high so stick out of every bra & bikini. I also have a dent in one of my breasts. The surgeon is happy and says there's no surgical way to lower areolas and any revision would only make them higher?? Can this be fixed? I can't look like this forever.

Answer: Breast Lift - High reolas Ok so first things first: I don't recommend lift at the same time as implant removal- unless the areola is dramatically low. Next, although the surgeon is likely happy with the geometric measurements, the aesthetic outcome is not great. The way to lower high areolas is likely to put in an implant (or a tissue expander) to stretch the chest above the areola. Once your skin is stretched out again, I would repeat the breast lift with the plan to not raise the areola at all; instead leave the areola height alone and just work on the lower breast. Complicated, but doable. All the best!!

Answer: Revision I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've had since your implant removal and lift. Your photos demonstrate that surgical intervention is needed to improve your result. The indent on the breast may be improved with fat grafting or mesh support. I encourage you to begin by visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation and to discuss your options.
